THEORY COURSES

Theory courses are available at Junior and Intermediate levels.  These complement the development of instrumental skills from beginner to Grade 5 standard and above.  The two strands correspond to the requirements for the Associated Board theory syllabus; Grades 1-3 covered by the Junior course and Grades 4-5 by the Intermediate course.

Entry to the courses is dependent on the availability of places, which are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.  Pupils are admitted to the Intermediate course on the successful completion of the Junior course or having passed a pre-intermediate assessment.

Courses are planned in 15 week units: 15 weeks = 1 semester; 2 semesters = 1 year (Sept - Jan / Feb - June)

Pupils must enrol for a minimum of 1 semester. The course costs £15 per semester (£22.50 for non-Board pupils) and £30 per year (£45 for non-Board pupils).
