The Music Service enjoys close working relationships with many external organisations, including the Ulster Youth Orchestra, the Ulster Youth Choir, as well as the instrument makers Besson and Jupiter. These contacts help provide regular masterclass and workshop opportunities for our instrumentalists at all levels.
Brass Concert – Saturday 3 February 2007 – Omagh Academy GS
76 young brass players from the WELB Music Service took part in the above named Concert. The concert featured the Ulster Trombone Ensemble and The Tempo Brass Band. The Ulster Trombone Ensemble performed an exiting programme including an interactive Children's story called ‘The Trombone Herd ', and the Tempo Brass Band performed an introduction to Brass music.
As well as some of the finest trombone players from the Ulster Orchestra and Strabane Concert Brass, the Ulster Trombone Ensemble included Bob Hughes (London Symphony Orchestra) and Chris Houlding (Principal Trombone Opera North).

As part of the continuing commitment to instrumental music, the WELB Music Service was involved in bringing the world's premier cornet player to the Ardhowen Theatre, Enniskillen on Tuesday 1 May 2007 and Wednesday 2 May in Holy Cross College West. All brass players were invited to come along.
Mr Roger Webster is universally regarded as the finest exponent of the cornet, the world has ever heard.
